“Marilyn Monopoly” is a mixture of physical and digital processes to arrive at the final work. The $100 bill replaces Benjamin Franklin with Marilyn Monroe as the iconic figure. Marilyn’s portrait is done in an engraving style and coloring to match the design of the currency.
The initial digital processing was printed, cut into individual pieces, then hand-folded and further distressed to resemble used money. Each piece was then mounted onto the hardwood surface, and sealed.
The piece measures 72”w x 30”h, mounted to a 3-inch backing painted black.
